Before
embarking on a career in health care consulting, Mr. Pal was Jt. Managing
Director for one of the fastest growing and most diversified Indian companies,
that has achieved an enviable position through licensing and co-marketing
route. Prior to this Mr.Pal was the Director on the board of Parke-Davis
(India) limited an affiliate of Warner-Lambert Company. Here he was
responsible for business development and for all of the corporation’s technical
operations involving APIs, pharmaceutical formulations, confectionery,
consumer products and chewing gums.
In a career spanning nearly four decades, Mr. Pal has made notable contribution to the growth of several Pharmaceutical, Bulk-actives & Confectionery manufacturing companies and has been, in turn, richly rewarded and recognized, as reflected in the positions he has occupied. Besides, Elder Pharmaceuticals (Chief Executive) [1994-97] and Parke Davis (member of Board of Directors) [1975-94], his past work experiences include Warner Hindustan [1972-75], Grimault and Roussel [1959-72]. His experience is backed by a solid academic profile. He obtained his Masters degree in Pharmacy and has ‘AMP’, from Asian Institute of Management in Manila, to his credit. Starting his career as a quality control chemist, Mr. Pal rose to the position of Production Manager in an affiliate of Roussel -Uclaf in India at the young age of 23. Mr. Pal is in great demand as a speaker for various industry meetings and symposia and is on the guest faculty of many prestigious institutions. He has participated / Chaired many National and International professional meetings. - American Chemical Society (ACS), Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association (CPA), Federation of International Pharmaceutique (FIP), International Business Communications (IBC) -to name just a few. He was the President of the 46th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at Chandigarh in December l994 - over 3000 delegates attended this meeting from India and abroad. Recipient of several awards, and covered in 'Who's Who in the World', he has played a key role in enhancing the status of Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and the standing of the profession of Pharmacy, in recognition of which he was awarded Eminent Pharmacist Award 2003. |
